The importance of an advanced Credentialing System that aim to transform the yoga teaching profession
During lockdown we have poured our hearts and souls into creating a new ‘Credentialing System’ designed to measure quality in a way the old traditional credentialing could not, and a new ‘Educational Structure’ for the definition and classification of yoga teacher educational programs. The new system is designed to benefit existing and prospective yoga teachers to ‘stand out from the crowd’ and distinguish themselves from the thousands of yoga professionals around the world. The critical importance of well-prepared teachers for student learning and achievement it is ‘imperative one’ for Yoga Alliance International, an organisation that serves the member community by providing tools for professional growth and development, and exclusive benefits.
Teachers can register as a RYT- 200 if they have successfully completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training that is registered or non-registered with a YA-International school.
Bikram Teachers and Yoga therapists are welcome to register!
Unlike Yoga Alliance (USA), we accept ALL yoga teacher graduates onto our registry, regardless of whether they’ve attended an approved training school or not, as long as the training matches up to our pre-decided standards.
*The first 200 hours must come from the same school registered or non-registered YA-International as multiple trainings cannot be combined to meet the 200 hour requirement.
As of March 2019, we no longer enforce mandatory continuing education activities for yoga teachers to keep their certification current with Yoga Alliance. For more information, please see here Continuing Education Requirements
