Registered Children’s Yoga Teacher (RCYT)

The globally accepted professional credential for Yoga Teachers

Yoga Alliance RCYT Specialty

 

A yoga teacher member of the association or, non-yoga persons who work in a professional capacity, can register as a RCYT if they have successfully completed a 50 contact hours minimum Children’s teacher training with a Yoga Alliance International or a similar recognised organisation Registered Children Yoga School (RCYS). Non-yoga persons can register as an Associate Yoga Student/RCYT.


Requirements

Applicants must have completed 50 hours minimum Children’s yoga training in the presence of a member of the association registered as an ERYT or a RYT 500, 500 PLUS,1500 with a RCYT qualification.

Yoga Teachers

  • Must hold a 200 hour or higher yoga teaching qualification

  • Current First Aid Certificate

  • Public Liability Insurance


Non-Yoga Persons with one or more qualifications listed below

  • Counsellor, occupational therapist, social worker, school teacher, special education teacher, teacher aide, school support officer, health and education professional, mental health worker, speech pathologist, early childhood educator, physiotherapist (students or assistants are welcome), psychologist (students are welcome), child psychologist (students are welcome) paediatricians (students are welcome).

  • Current First Aid Certificate.

  • Public Liability Insurance.

  • No hours of yoga classes attendance or teaching experience are required.

Upon course completion can register as an Associate Yoga Student/RCYT


Non-Yoga Persons with no vocational qualification

  • Must have been practising or teaching yoga for at least six months prior to applying for Yoga Alliance membership. *Evidence of yoga classes attendance and teaching hours are required by submission of Statutory Declaration that confirms the number of total hours and sites address attended.

  • Current First Aid Certificate.

  • Public Liability Insurance.


What is a Statutory Declaration?

A statutory declaration is a legal document defined under the law of certain Commonwealth. It is similar to a statement made under oath, however, it is not sworn nations. *Please download the Statutory Declaration

When you write a statutory declaration, you should include

  1. Your full name

  2. Your address

  3. Your occupation

  4. A statement that you "do solemnly and sincerely declare"


Associate Yoga Student + RCYT - $ 270

  • Membership Valid three (3) years

  • No Annual Renewal

  • Yoga Teachers with a 200 minimum teaching qualification from a school registered or non-registered with Yoga Alliance International

  • A Non-Yoga Person that works in a professional capacity as a counsellor, occupational therapist, social worker, school teacher, midwife, obstetrician or maternal child health nurse that has minimum 50 hours Children's training from the YA-International’s CEAS (Continuing Education Accredited School) or a non-registered YA-International yoga school. *Children’ yoga training must be completed with a qualified RCYT teacher. *Evidence of qualification (s) in one or more field listed above is required

  • A Yoga Student enrolled on a 200 hours yoga teacher training aiming to build yoga teaching pathway who has completed minimum 50 hours specialty yoga training or any yoga related subject with YA-International’s CEAS (Continuing Education Accredited School) or a non-registered YA-International yoga school. *To upgrade membership from Associate Yoga Student to RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher) MUST complete a 200 hour teacher training

Note:

  • The Associate Yoga Student membership enable non-yoga persons to teach Children's yoga classes to member of the public only if the requirements above are fully met and hold professional insurance and a current first aid certificate

  • Applicants who have completed course will receive the RPYT and the Associate Yoga Student designation combined together

  • Applicants enrolled on a yoga teacher training course who have completed a RCYT cannot teach classes to other until have completed a minimum 200 hour yoga teacher training
