Dr. Georg Feuerstein Ph.D (27 May 1947 – 25 August 2012) was a German Indologist specialising in the philosophy and praxis of Yoga. Feuerstein authored over 50 books on mysticism, Yoga, Tantra, and Hinduism. He translated, among other traditional texts, the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and the Bhagavad Gita.

Brenda L. Feuerstein is the founder and director of Traditional Yoga Studies which is a Canadian company that offers Yoga philosophy distance learning courses and various trainings, workshops, and retreats worldwide: www.traditionalyogastudies.com/courses/ Brenda also continues with the life-long passionate research and writing career of her late husband, Georg Feuerstein.
Brenda is an author of several books on Yoga philosophy, social and environmental activism, and poetry and is actively translating many sacred texts from a unique feminine perspective. She travels internationally as a Yoga educator leading trainings, retreats, workshops, classes and lectures, and her passion is finding ways to bring the yogic teachings to life in today's world.
She trained intensively in Yoga philosophy (Hindu, Buddhist and Jain), asana, pranayama, meditation, Yoga-nidra, and Sanskrit for nine years with Georg Feuerstein, and other teachers worldwide in the areas of meditation pranayama, philosophy, postural Yoga, Ayurveda, as well as Sanskrit, Tibetan, Pali, and Tamil over the course of 30 years.
Brenda has studied several types of meditations and has been a meditation practitioner for over 35 years. She currently runs online meditation programs as well as in-person trainings. Brenda continues her studies in Kum Nye Tibetan Yoga in the USA, Babaji's Kriya Yoga in Canada, and Buddhist studies with her teacher, The 9th Neten Rinpoche as well as the teachings of her late teacher, Kunzang Dechen Linga Rinpoche.
Her authored and co-authored works with her late husband,Georg Feuerstein, Ph.D include: The Yoga-Sutra From a Woman’s Perspective, and co-authored The Matrix of Yoga, Green Yoga, Green Dharma, The Bhagavad-Gita.
Brenda is continuing her academic studies in Counselling Psychology, Traumatology and Death and Dying, and continues her research into the effectiveness of mind-body practices for the treatment of PTSD, eating disorders, addictions, and grief.
