Luciana Savocchia – Adelaide
Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance Australia
My yoga journey started at 17 years old, following the practice on a daily TV program featuring Swami Saravasti. I still have her first posture book! It was not long before my own transformation began both internally and externally.
Having participated in many impact sports over the years including running, netball, golf and cycling, I found that yoga practice kept me injury free, mentally calm and focused.
In 2005, I commenced regular trips to Thailand due to my business. During these trips, I ended up extending my stays to attend charity cycling events every October for 3 years to raise money for a temple being built in Kathin. The rides were very long, covering approximately 700km in five days- a true challenge on the body and the mind. My daily meditation started then with my fellow riders.
By 2013 I was practicing regularly at a Peak Physique Hot Yoga studio and decided to do the 200 hour teacher training that was on offer there. In that same year I had a car accident, which presented more challenges, as I could not take time off to allow my body to heal. During this time, my daily yoga practice helped with the migraines, aches and pains. Throughout my recovery, I made the decision that I wanted to change my career path and teach yoga on a fulltime basis.
I believe that the mind, body and soul connection is sacred and it should be nurtured and inspired. With this in mind, I teach my classes from the heart- creating an uplifting experience for students, to begin to explore and expand within their own body and consciousness. This is my own style of teaching and I use it to bring these qualities to others.
